A few things:
1 - I had a birthday last week. It went well. Found a great Mexican restaurant with a dazzling variety of fine tequilas with Whit and had a blast...
2 - I dunno.
I don't know. Things are good but mildly uninteresting. Came really, really close to getting pretty significant commercial campaign, but I didn't get it and I am trying really hard not to write about crap I didn't get. It's been too long since I have written..let's see what I can remember.
I had a good time at MacWorld and seeing my friends in San Francisco, despite the grey skies and lousy cell phone reception (I wouldn't mention it unless it was a major pain, which it was, majorly). I love being home but I was really happy to return to LA, where it's been beautiful...windy as all get out, but pretty from the inside.
This birthday session was nice because I was able to see a lot of my friends down here. We're all moving so quickly that by the time we are all in the same room, someone's pregnant, another's moving to another country, another is going for a new job. It's wild. I think I have mentioned this before, but I wonder if people have kids as a way of forcing time to slow down? An anchor that forces you to stay at home and just be nailed to the moment. I have seen this happening a bit with my friends.
The little things that I would normal mention seem silly. Like, I gotta go back to the dermatologist so they can take a look at this mole that they had removed that is now growing back. Small and kinda nasty. Silly. Work is interesting because it's never consistent. I am doing more than ever and while I am finding a good balance, I am irritated that I have to re-balance everything every day. The acting is going well; Kate's back in The Groundlings and I am thinking I might take a few "work outs" before I start up with them, but I am still not sure when.
Plans are happening, though. A few weddings this year, one possibly in the Dominican Republic, which would be fun. Another in Colorado later that month. One probably in New York. All of them probably DJ'd by me. (when did I become a wedding DJ?) I have this crazy southern wedding in July, which I am looking forward to. I wanna wear one of those colonel sanders ties and a seer sucker suit.
Physically, I am rocking out. I kinda messed up my hip this weekend, but it's on the mend and I will be able to make it to my dance class today. It's very funny--people are very amused when I talk about the classes, usually because 90% of the people I talk to about them would never, ever, in a million years, go to a workout class, yet those who do rave about them. I went to 7 classes in 5 days last week, just to see if I could, and I felt like a CHAMP. It's nice--really nice--to have a birthday and realize that I am in better mental and physical health than at any other time in my life.
I gotta go. Have a good 'un.
